Model Po

Po has been a test pilot for waxa since the early days and it was about time he has his own model. This is a mix between my buckler and roscoe street models. A nice round nose for extended nose rides and hippy in the tail for those nice turns off the tail. The rails have been thinned right out to be more responsive and in beach breaks surf and a shallow defined tear drop concave has been added to lock it in on the nose. This board is a good all rounder and will not disappoint.

Po rides his 9’4 x 18 x 23 1/4 x 16 x 3

Available from 9’4 – 9’8

Nose Rider

Defined shallow tear drop nose concave, rolled vee on the bottom, concave on the tail , wide point aft, foiled out 50/50 rails on the sides and glassed heavy. This is a traditional log which encourages a traditional style and is for those who want to spend a lot of time on the nose. Waxa’s board of choice for point breaks or small beach breaks. Glass on fin is encouraged.

The JD

JD has been working with me on a few shapes over the past year, one of which being his namesake ‘The JD’. This board offers a more driven and manoeuvrable feel while keeping the essential nose riding characteristic thrown  into all my logs.

The nose and tail have been pulled in while keeping the very functional wide point aft curve. The rails are thinly foiled 60/40 with an un turn in the nose.  I’ve used a flat rocker lock you in when your throwing ten and a flatter tail give more drive off the bottom.

Comes with hand foiled Rake Fin in Box or Glass on

JD rides his 9’5 x 17 3/4 x 23 x 15 3/4 x 3

Roscoe Street

This board has been developed over years of dodging kooks in Bondi. It has good hold on the nose, fits into barrels and is suited to beach breaks that are sucky and hollow. The wide point has been pulled back to give it more speed and more refined foiled 50/50 rails for sharp turns and faster trim. The nose has been narrowed for sharper turning and a tear drop nose concave has been added to lock you in nose riding and reduces weight in the front third of the board. Flex fins are encouraged for a more lively feel and hatchets can be used for more stability on the nose.

Wax rides his 9’6 x 17.750 x 23 x 16.250 x 3

Available from 9’2 – 9’10

Second Ramp

Developed for the more distinguished surfers and longboard diehards, this board keeps the feel of your log but has the manoeuvrability of a much smaller board . The wide point has been pulled slightly aft to keep the log feel while offering a lot more speed and agility than your 9’6 Log . The rails have been dropped to 60/40 going to hard edge in the tail; the bottom contours is rolled vee entry ti flat to spiral vee.

If you like larry laybacks and head dips, you’ll like this board

Chip

My take on the mini – simmons shape. Don’t be thrown by the length, these boards are super fun, hold through cutbacks and fast down the line. The extra width in the nose to allow you to surf it shorter, Hull entry to single concave under your chest and double concave from the middle back to aid in going rail to rail. This board definantly offers something to both long boarders and short boarders.

Po rides his 5’0 x 21.5 x 2.5

Available from 4’10 – 5’6
